Cultivate & Respond to Google Reviews
Good Google reviews can improve your business’ credibility, increase click-through rates to your website, AND boost your search engine rankings so you can be more competitive and get noticed. Businesses with a high rating on Google reviews are 5 TIMES more likely to be considered reputable!
Customers can review your business directly from your profile or Google maps, but one of the most effective ways is to ask for it. Here's how:
If you haven't set up your Google Business Profile, start with this blog post. If you have set up your Google Business Profile log in to your dashboard and click "Ask for Reviews."
Share your review link via email, on social media, or in-store signage. When utilizing in-store signage, it's often easier to include a QR code rather than a long website link to make it convenient for your customers to point-and-shoot the code and submit a review on the spot.
There are a number of "free" QR code generators but one of the best is through Canva. Canva is a free-to-use online graphic design tool that has professional templates to create social media posts, presentations, posters, videos, and more. Create your free account and then go to the menu and click on "QR Code Generator" under the Marketing dropdown.
Copy and paste your custom review link from your Google Business Profile to instantly create a QR code that you can download, copy/paste, or instantly use in one of Canva's templates.
You can, and should, respond to all reviews, positive or negative. Take time to thank them for sharing their experience. If it's a negative (or less than postive) review, address their issue tactfully and honestly and offer a resolution or fix, if their review is warranted.
Don't worry if you happen to get inappropriate or malicious reviews. You can always have them removed from your profile.
